Morning city tour of Lima including Plaza Mayor, Government Palace, Cathedral, and San Francisco Monastery with catacombs. Visit Larco Museum with pre-Columbian art collection. Afternoon flight to Cusco (3,400m altitude). Transfer to hotel and rest to acclimatize. Light evening walk around Plaza de Armas. Coca tea to help with altitude. Dinner at local restaurant.
Full-day Sacred Valley tour. Visit Pisac archaeological site with impressive Inca terraces and temples. Explore Pisac market with local handicrafts and textiles. Buffet lunch in Urubamba. Continue to Ollantaytambo fortress, the only Inca town still inhabited. Climb the massive stone terraces with panoramic valley views. Evening train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town). Overnight near Machu Picchu.
Early morning bus to Machu Picchu for sunrise. Comprehensive guided tour of the citadel including Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana stone, Royal Palace, and agricultural terraces. Learn about Inca architecture, astronomy, and daily life. Free time to explore independently or hike to Sun Gate. Optional Huayna Picchu mountain climb (pre-booking required). Morning flight to Puerto Maldonado in the Amazon basin. Transfer to river port and motorized canoe journey to rainforest lodge (2 hours). Settle into your jungle bungalow. Afternoon guided walk on rainforest trails spotting monkeys, birds, and exotic plants. Night walk to observe nocturnal wildlife including frogs, insects, and possibly caimans. Dinner at lodge with sounds of the jungle.
